Same, if I had been using Linux since day one I'm sure I'd be weary to move to Windows. I like using Windows, went to the official Vista launch thing tonight at the Rectron Road Show and it looks really excellent. They've built in a lot of Linux like features, searches everywhere, etc, etc.. Will de...

A friend of mines CD-ROM used to do this to quite a few CDs that had no cracks at all. It happens when you buy dodgy brands sometime.

Umm, I don't LAN much so I would say. 1. Whatever the latest games are at the moment, and the most played 2. Time of day? LANs generally last at least an entire day, or a weekend. So I say from Friday to Sunday night would be best. 3. If the LAN is to be mainly for games, then why not have prizes th...

Linux is and will always be harder to use than Windows. This is good because it keeps away most of the n00bs. But with "things" such as Ubuntu around nowadays Linux might one day become a good alternative to Windows, that won't be happening very soon though. I can use Linux, it's fun when ...

What makes digital editing work better and faster, is it hardware or software like, Corel photo paint or Adobe, or JASC which I'm also using. Definitely hardware, the software is a great help but to run software like Photoshop you need a reasonably good system for it to work properly. It depends wh...

@Azgard: yess... depends on the magnet used, and would also result in physical damage to the drive... you would, however, have to mask the noise... and not mind the cancer risks Laughing Well for the purpose I mentioned physical damage would be fine ;) Do electromagnets make a lot of noise? :? azga...

Just find some application that'll do it for you, if yo want to erase data securely that is. I think it was a Symantec App that I used to use that had something like this, you could even set how many times it overwrote the file with random data. Something I've been wondering also on this topic. I on...

I'm pretty happy with my desk/s, have had them forever and they will working fine :)

My chair on the other hand, the back rest is held to the base by a clamp you'd usually find in a garage (that's where I found it) And all the stuffing is coming out of the part you sit on :(

Really need a new chair!

The thing is, the larger harddrive is SATA II, while this doesn't make much different at the moment, I have tested that harddrive and it is quite a lot faster than the 200 GB. So I would like to boot off the faster one.

It's like that with any monitor, the higher the refresh rate the less it strains your eyes.

My CRT is at 85hz and won't have it any lower. Hope my new LCD won't be too much worse than this.

I actually bought some cards when I was in Durban beginning of last year. They were very cheap and I noticed later it was because they weren't totally in English :(

Have never played the card games though, with real cards or on PC :(

I used to watch the show on TV ages ago, like two years or more. Didn't realise it was still on!

When I first saw it I thought WTF what a retarded show. But after watching an episode or two I really started to enjoy it.

Excellent show :)

No episodes unfortunately :(

You shouldn't really say that on a public forum, since that it is illegal to have a cable running over property lines :?

Glad it works for you though, have always wanted to try that but my closest friend is about 300 meters away :(

There are a quite a few things you could do: Get a wireless network going as the ranges increases outdoors, although the house in the middle will drop it a bit. This is what I would recommend. Best would be to have a wireless AP or router setup in the house, since it's closer to both your room and t...
