The BenQ FP93GX 19" LCD for example. They say that it's 2ms, but examine those specs more closely and you see it's actually 6ms, the 2ms is only grey to grey.
Glad I already knew that ;)

That goes double for me...

You guys do know that even with a 0ms response rate a conventional LCD display would blur when displaying fast moving images?

A lot of LCD manufacturers also BS with their response times.

The BenQ FP93GX 19" LCD for example. They say that it's 2ms, but examine those specs more closely and you see it's actually 6ms, the 2ms is only grey to grey.

ViewSonic on the other hand, which happens to be my LCD manufacturer of choice, quotes theirs properly, like in the case of the VX922 19", the G2G is 2ms and so is the white-black-white which is the true response time.
Yeah, I know it'll blur... but I'm telling what's commonly used, I"m not the holy god :) saying 6MS IS TOO MUCH OH CUSTOMER!

Well I have an 8ms ViewSonic and find it to be perfect... But then again I am just a casual gamer and don't compete much in online competitions of CS:S, so it might be fine.

What's your refresh rate set like with your LCD, apparently (according to nVidia anyway) the higher refresh rate the easier on the eyes.

It's like that with any monitor, the higher the refresh rate the less it strains your eyes.

My CRT is at 85hz and won't have it any lower. Hope my new LCD won't be too much worse than this.

Before, my CRT monitor was restricted to an abysmal 60hz...

9/10 LCD's refresh rate is 60Hz default driver supported.

My ViewSonic for example runs happy at 75Hz under Windows but as soon as the drivers are installed it goes to 60Hz and this cannot be changed.

M1ke go do some research mate. You give too much advise for someone who doesn't know much.

Start here and then work your way through google.

I must agree with Rayne again.

Here is also some interesting information for you to browse through.

LCD displays and refresh rate:

"Much of the discussion of refresh rate does not apply to LCD monitors. This is because while a phosphor on a CRT will begin to dim as soon as the electron beam passes it, LCD cells open to pass a continuous stream of light, and do not dim until instructed to produce a darker color."
