How to partition a drive keeping info
How to partition a drive keeping info
Well my topic title is pretty descriptive.
Basically I wanna partition my drive, keeping my original partition while doing so. Is there anything that does this for free? What would be best? Anything I should know?
Cheers
Mike

Try one of these...
Although what you want to do is pretty risky, even with expensive software like Partition Magic.

LMFAO! Bazik and I are having the same problem so it was a mutual need for info, therefore not a hijack but more of an info-attaining alliance
Cranial do you ever lose info with that program? Nothing on my drive is too vital, not sure about Bazik's, but I don't have my XP CD with me to reinstall if it goes pearshaped..

You do know that Ubuntu comes with its own partitioner, that will leave your current data alone. It will resize the partition, and create a new one.
Apparently, you can even use it to partition, then quit the installer completely.
Just be very careful, as if you tell it the wrong thing, it can and will delete your precious data.

That's also another important pointer.
NEVER install Linux before Windows.
Always, Windows before Linux, as the Windows bootloader won't pick up Linux.
