PSP vs. DS

Post by the_nominator »

So what do you guys think of these two upcoming hande helds?

The PSP will have the graphics and the featues with video, MP3, Near PS2 graphics and tons more.
Also the upcoming patch is going to include:

Artificial voice engine for reading text
SonicStage music download system
News download system
Calculator function
Voice chat function
Three internal PSP games
Shougi [Japanese chess game]
Big Bang Bang [alien-shooting game]
PSP e-mail software
PSP word processor
PSP Web browser
PSP schedule software
Bug fix 000
Bug fix 002

But then the short battery life and UMD disk my cause it huge problems.

On the other hand theres the DS.
Two low res screens, one being a touch screen.
Massive portfolio of origional GBA titles already availabe
And the interactive gaming features.

I've been reading up on these 2 for quite a while now and I'll definitely be getting the PSP the moment it's released...

both are going to be interesting,

the psp obviously for its high storage space and near ps2 graphics,
the ds for its unique approach to games with its touch screen

obviously the PSP is going to be a hit, its like a ps2 in your pocket, the battery life as mentioned will be a problem but i guess people will put up with it. after all anything designed by sony cant be anything less than perfect no matter what flaw is discovered...i read that somewhere

and yeah the ds might be behind a bit in the technical department but it isnt exactly a slouch, the games shown on the system look very good as well, besides its main draw is going to be the games coming out on it, using the touch screen/etc

in any case, why the Versus ? people should just go get both and enjoy the great gaming theyl both undoubtably bring to the table.

not that ill be doing that...not made of money you know :P

ill most likely be grabbing the ds, the psp if i can at a later stage when the price drops a bit

I will go for the PSP but the Ds looks pretty desent.
I prefer sony over nintendo and I am not a big fan of nintendo games like mario and donkey kong.

The Ds has a low resolution screen and every good portable hand held must have a prope resolution to compete with sony.

The Ds i will give 7/10 and the PSP 8.5/10
