MSI DOT - success stories / mishaps -> please share

Post by Spabel »

I'd like to know from u guys who have had some experience with the Dynamic Overclocking Technology used in MSI products:

1) Better performance - yes/no
2) Instability - yes/no
3) Do you use it - yes/no
4) Any other comments relevant.

Thanx

1: Yes
2: No
3: Yes

I overclock my MSI FX5200 by 50 then put DOT on the highest setting and I fly when it struggles like in UT2004. No instability ever.

the settings translate into the % overclocking allowed when the pc runs stressed. 3D gaming etc.

thus you don't overclock permanently, but the pc decides when to overclock, and can do so to a maximum setting as set by the user in those control panels.

pretty cool technology

I have a MSI mobo and gfx and I have never heard of this DOT. My Pc is only one year old so what is this? Is it software or does the hardware have to have it as well?

all the newer msi hardware has it. fx range pfx and neo mobo's. perhaps your's is a bit too old.

it's all part of the new corecell chip they include on their systems now. then you dynamically oc via software or in the bios (for the mobo)

if effect it only brings up FSB for better performance. with the gfx it enhances performance by upping memory frequencies etc.

an interesting read on MSI site. i'll see if i can locate the url again
