Win7 64-bit not saving settings
I've installed a few games and 2 of them are giving me problems:
Unreal Tournament 3 - Asks for cd-key re-entry
CoD4 - Keeps saying my system settings has changed on every start up
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Probably a registry issue-maybe enter the key manually.
Soon Google will know everything...including how to divide by zero
Re: Win7 64-bit not saving settings
Are you running the games in admin mode?? For some games in order for them to save settings you need to run as a admin.

I assume I am always in admin mode?
Or is this like linux where I have to enable all commands as admin on every use?

Just turn UAC off and see if that fixes the problem (it allows programs to read and write everywhere)
Or right click and choose run as administrator

Re: Win7 64-bit not saving settings
I am running as admin with full rights.
Something else is wrong. After browsing the games site for support some people have the same problem. But I havent seen a solution so far.

Even if you're running as an admin, you still have to right click and select "Run As Administrator" with some apps. Not saying that this is definitely the solution to your problem, just pointing out a fact.

Re: Win7 64-bit not saving settings
the UT3 issue is widespread.
I can't remember how I fixed mine, or if I even fixed it at all.

Re: Win7 64-bit not saving settings
Will see tomorrow when I jump online again. Is it only a vista/7 64-bit issue or is there more to it?
Re: Win7 64-bit not saving settings
The UT problem can be fixed by loading the latest game update(s).StarBound wrote:Will see tomorrow when I jump online again. Is it only a vista/7 64-bit issue or is there more to it?

Re: Win7 64-bit not saving settings
I never had to on xp. Something interesting was mentioned though. If your pc changes with 1 IP it wants to re enter a key. Meaning if I am connected with and disconnected it wants me to enter a key. If this is true then I am removing this game permanently.

Yay, another rant about games. Why don't you stop playing them, and save yourselfand everyone else the headache they seem to cause you
