More trouble with Dlink dir-300 or maybe Iburst

Post by Qrox »

I bought a dlink dir-300 about 2 weeks ago. After a long battle with it I managed to get it installed but now I have another problem. I want to share my Iburst connection with the pc's on my network but I am only able to connect to Iburst's site when it is plugged in. When I connect normally I am able to access all other sites. Can anyone tell me what is set up wrong. If someone also has a dir-300 with iburst or a similar router I would really appreciate the help.

Find the MTU setting on your router (normally under "wan setup" or something similar, and set it to 1392 (the recommended by Iburst)

Hope this helps!

So another problem that I'm having now is with COD4 and the router. I get extremely High ping (999) and get kicked by punkbuster for packet loss. Before I installed the router I had a stable ping and connection. I assume that it has something to do with port forwarding. I have tried to forward the ports from instructions i got from portforward.com but I am unable to forward ports by this method because my ip is static (router assigns me an ip). I tried to set my IP to what the router gave me manually but then I get cut off the internet. Any suggestions?

Think I found the problem. Found a setting that eleminates lag for voip. Turned it off and so far I have not had any more lag. If it comes back I will post again
