I want to do all of this programatically ?
I can set a start up script in slax making a custom ISO so when it boots from CD it runs the script. ?

Re: SLAX install to HDD
Google ? Really ?
as in http://www.google.co.za/search?hl=en&q= ... arch&meta=
Thanks for googling for me but i coulive done that myself.
please try again, and come back later
and since you giving me a looong thread to read, read it your self first.
and you will see thats not what i want.
That all involves installing Slax outside Slax, from with in windows or other Linux environments. using the bootinstscript
Which creates a grub menu and install the ISO to the HDD , not whilst you inside slax
Slax comes with a live installer like ubuntu , but its gui based , need it to be automated as i explained in the first thread.
It must boot from the CD and install, Just like that

Re: SLAX install to HDD
I'm still confused, do you want to create a live cd that can install or just a cd where you insert it and it installs automagically or do you want to just install it straight off the cd as though you were copying the live cd onto your hard drive?

I'm guessing he wants it so that all he needs to do is boot off the CD, and it will install it automatically.

Re: SLAX install to HDD
If the above ^ is true then I'm interested in why, as with Slackware (Slax' base) theres no real reason to reinstall. Unless you intend to use this cd to install Slax on about 50 pc's where you don't want to sit in front of each one and configure then all
Re: SLAX install to HDD
What darkstar said.
Exactly that, I want it to boot install to HDD then run a couple of configuration scripts.
Once done it will have XAMP (Apache, PHP, MYSQL) and Asterisk installed.
With a Web gui to configure Asterisk.
But there is quite a few stumbling blocks.
HDD types: Sata and IDE.
A simple install like centos or fedora installer would do aswell bu i dont know how to create pre configured scripts for that.
So Slax is my way out as it uses modules which gets injected as it boots.
I'm trying to make a install CD which is meant for a pc to be turned into an appliance.
