Normal for Itunes to take R7 off your credit card?
Normal for Itunes to take R7 off your credit card?
Hi folks
Downloaded Itunes the other day and signed up. As part of the signup it askes for credit card details. Next thing I see a R7 charge to Itunes on my credit card. Is this normal?
perhaps I should have read those terms and conditions after all...

Nevermind...found it on their website:
Don't know of any other vendor doing that, but hey...Apple wrote:Like most merchants, iTunes places a $1 authorization hold to verify that your credit card is active when you update your billing information. This is not an actual charge and the bank will remove the hold.

That is bullocks! Do they give you like 2 free tracks in exchange for the R7 charge?
Imagine 4 million+ users all charged R7 just to see if the account works! OMG?!
Yeah I think I'll buy a CD instead.

I'm pretty sure you get that $1 back as credit to use towards a purchase. That's how it worked with my paypal account.Frozenfireside wrote:That is bullocks! Do they give you like 2 free tracks in exchange for the R7 charge?

Apple iTunes store in South Africa!
Churned out on July 11th, 2008
Johannesburg - Those people that upgraded to or downloaded the latest version of Apple’s iTunes software on Thursday would have been pleasantly surprised to see that South Africa now has its own iTunes store.

Okay, now i don't know if i'm just being dumb or what, but i can't find how to buy music in iTunes. I downloaded and installed the (60MB) application, and all i can browse/buy is iPhone apps.

Maybe you wanna read the report:
Pre-empting the release of the long-anticipated iPhone on local shores, the local iTunes “app” store currently only offers the software for the iPhone and iPod Touch. No music or video content is available through the store.

So... there is a local iTunes store, but you can't frikken buy anything that will be remotely useful from it. Wow, iPhone apps. That would be great if the iPhone was actually LOCALLY AVAILABLE.
Gosh... the guys at apple deserve a kick in the pants.

The iPhone is apparently being released on friday though. I'm quite amped for that. Once the hype around the G1 has cleared, i'll get one of the two. I still need to research them a bit though.

There are lots of stupid people on this forum. Whining all the time without bothering to do any research.
Yes, it's just an App store, apps can used on both the iPhone and iPod touch - which has been in SA for ages.

While moses is correct, it's still dumb. That means that the iTunes store is only good for Touch owners.DeathStrike wrote:lol. so he downloaded it for nothing then?
