Entire PC Backup Apps

Post by WAJeff »

My boss has told me to try and find some app that can backup everything on the server that we are running. File, settings, registry, apps etc etc

Does anyone know of a decent application that can do this. I've tried Googling, but havnt had the best results

do you need to be able to access the information readily?

otherwise, you could ghost the entire drive and then if anything happens, just ghost it back...?

Now that sounds like a plan dude!!
The info doesnt have to be readily available, but if the server crashes it should be on hand to do the backup then and there

Why don't you just create an image/clone of the drive, that way you can just restore the entire thing. I don't think that it should be used as your regular backup, but perhaps as a weekly or monthly option.

Edit: Interfan beat me to it.

Thanks for the reply. How you I go about making an image of the drive though? Would I need that app that Interfan linked me to or is there an option to do it on XP?

When I say server, its not a full on thing, its more like a PC with the server on it that runs the clients
