How to remove sticker and preserve?

Post by Keigo »

Hi, I want to remove the stickers showing below in the image and want to preserve it

its stick on aluminum surface~ I try blow with a hair dryer~ it don't budge...

Any idea how I should I do it without harming the surface or the sticker~

or just give up and leave it?

Thanks~

Hair dryer should work. Set it to hot, and blow for some time. Then take one of those blades from a Stanley knife and carefully--and slowly--lift the sticker from the surface, all the while keeping the dryer blowing on it. You might burn your fingers, but it should work alright. Usually works better from the back of the surface, but I've done it before from the front as well.

remember that once removed you might have trouble removing the glue that stays behind. Some are pretty nasty silicone and plastic mixes.

But schase's idea should work 100%. :)

Edit: nice lappie btw... 8)

What ever you do dont try a head gun, "Heavy duty hair dryer" to be used for what you want to do.

On my old Golf 1 i had pink and purple "sissy looking stripes" from front to back.

And used a on of those heat guns (Dont know the real name), and burnt the paint to a brown colour"

the only thing concern me is the blade part~ hope I don't scratch it...

please stay away~ it don't have ZBD policy on this model~

ok.. finally done~ took around 30min~ and took some photos and burned my right thumb by the hair dryer...

Use the Hair Dryer to blow the sticker and use a blade through it~
and figure it out is more easier to go through by heat up the blade than blow againest the sticker it self.

All sticker off~ :D

it rubs off~ but not right away~ it require a little more time than taking off the sticker~
the rubber roll the glue in to little pieces and is not sticky~

Ha yeah, I've tried removing stickers from stuff before, but it always leaves that damn glue behind. I never thought of just using a rubber.
