HELP FOR FIRST TIME GAMER!

Hi

Please help with letting me know where to start with setting up a gaming pc...

So far I have been using my Toshiba Tecra:
Operating System: MS Windows XP Professional
Processor Name: Intel Celeron M 340
Processor Speed: 1.5 GHz
RAM: 1GB
Graphics Card: Intel 82855 GME
Primary Optical Drive: DVD-ROM

Do you need a complete system as in box, monitor and input devices?

if you have thoes, input and monitor etc, rather just spend that cash on the pc itself, the more money you have for the box the better. peripherals you can add laaaater when you getting money in again lol

Yeah, like to start off you could use onboard sound and a cheap mouse and cheap keyboard.etc
How much are you planning on getting for your birthday? :P Also what type of games do you play mainly and what else would you use your PC for.
