wonderful machine. But power is nothing without control (sigh). So you need: logitech MX510/G5 Mouse and a nice keyboard. Also, a good set of headphones and at least a SoundBlaster 2.1 speaker system. 17"/19" monitor. I like flat CRTs, but LCDs are also good.

hmmm....seems like youve got only 512MB ram....this is probably enough for now but you can get a major performance increase by adding another DDR-400 512MB ram...that would be dual channel, right? otherwise your pc is great. the 3D1 solution is a really good GFX.

thanx guys for the input,

my current pc has 1gig of ram so i'm going to take out a stick and put in the new 1. I also have a wicked speaker set thats on the way maybe a few months later. the z5500 logitech set. I've been lookin at the monitors but i rekon i'll do with my old 1 for just a bit longer. its an a-open 17inch model. sucky resolutions though.

I have just 1 worry, does this graphics card support the normal nvidia drivers?

sorry for bein a pain o's but i'm having a problem with my pc. I cant seem to use my keyboard in games. i am unable to hold down a key as after a while it doesnt register as though the key is not held. I have a microsoft wireless optical desktop comfort edition... Other than this, the pc is running wicked.

How do i post pics on this thread?

My 3dmark scores are ok i think except for 2001 which i'm sure is low:

2001: 19858
2003: 14305

You would need to upload the pics to a hosting service like Imageshack or Photobucket first...

3dmark 01 seems to be more cpu dependant. the others are more dependant on a fast graphics card.

Hey Bash

Sorry, but I don't have any ideas why your MS kb is giving hassles. I had a client who bought himself a 'nice', new MS multimedia kb recently, which he had to send back... something inside it caused letters to be switched, that when you pressed 'c' it showed up as 'i' on the screen for instance. After a fruitless search for virii and spy\malware that wasn't even on his system, it came back to being a faulty kb.

Get a Logitech kb, I've never had any problems with mine ;)

I used to use an MS multimedia kb (still have it as a spare actually)... was very good! Never had a day's hassle with it. Oh well, I suppose no manufacturer can get it 100% right all the time, with products that are shipped. There's bound to be the odd dodgy one.

I doubt its a faulty keyboard because i bought 2 of the desktop sets and both give me the same problem. O well, i'm bak to using the "el-cheapo" wired keyboard that came with my old pc. Thanx for the input guys, truely appreciated

Nice PC :)
If I were you I would def. invest in a good soundcard like a audigy 2 zs or a X-FI if youc an afford it. Onboard sound on a pc like that is like having a M3 with 15" wheels.

i have exactly the same model as that, w/ same problem. Alpha, if you dont have probs with it, maybe tell us how you configured your driver settings for the keyboard. i thought it did that cuz its trying to save battery power... its annoying when im playing nfsu2.

shot Damien, a good monitor is next on my list then perhaps if i have enough the audigy xi-fi fatality edition coz the cheaper 1's have no onbaord ram. its sad that all prices seem to be escalating on other hardware just as they are in the graphics market nowadays. i bought my sb live platinum for R300 a couple of years back and it was kick bottom then.

pesospesos: i'm glad i'm not the only1 coz i have 2 desktop sets and both dont work. how unlucky wud i be if i had the only 2 sets that didnt work as meant to be....
