Re: Modern Warfare 3
Ok I'm handing out the hate.
If your into CoD for the multiplayer like me you have 2 options:
1 - Dedicated servers. You go into options and enable server browser. Then you join a dedicated server where you don't rank up but everything is unlocked and your ping is low.
2 - Join matchfinxing... I mean matchmaking. You get to level up, join hosts on the other side of the world and denied a kill after pumping the guy full of lead because in some part of this universe he had a 2 second advantage over you.
So pick the way you want to be screwed.
Oh and btw I get that you can't please everyone. But then how the !@#$ did they manage to get me to like the game if I started with CoD4 by leveling up and unlocking weapons so you felt like your achieving something? Or is that just me fooling myself that there is another game out their that can compete with World of Warcraft?

Re: Modern Warfare 3
I have lost faith in Cod ever since they got rid of the good old fashioned LAN play . And MW3 looks like just another attempt to make some money rather than to make a genuinely good game

I think I saw LAN somewhere in there.
Re: Modern Warfare 3
Got the game and I have only one issue. The multiplayer in-game graphics look worse than MW2 even with everything cranked up. Text is huge, about twice the size that it should be. I'm convinced the Multiplayer mode is a console port.

Metacritic user average is currently at 1.4 out of 10 but it deserves to be at zero. What a waste of money.

Metacritic users are just ragers. I'm sure the game is worth 4.1/10.

Dont know why people carry on supporting Activision and the COD franchise. You would have thought they would have learned after the MW2 fiasco...

Loyal PC Call of Duty Gamers: No CoD Elite For You?
Just over a week ago, we brought you frustrating news that the brand new Call of Duty Elite social network was going to be delayed for the PC, once again leaving the PC gaming crowd feeling like second class citizens compared to their console counterparts. Now, in a bitter blow, it appears that the Elite service may shut out loyal PC gamers altogether. Plus, as is typical of big companies, the message was delivered in the most terse and disrespectful way possible, via a short Twitter tweet:
So, that's it then, PC gamers may never get it and there's no explanation why. One can only surmise that it's due to the alleged "security issues" previously alluded to. Therefore, hopefuls will just have to wait on tenterhooks for an undefined period of time. So, the biggest sales launch in history isn't enough to convince the company to support the PC platform? It looks like detractors of the Call of Duty franchise have a very legitimate axe to grind this time, doesn't it? Probably the best way to view this unfortunate news is that the benefits weren't worth it anyway.@thejuggz We are working towards a universal Elite experience but we cannot guarantee if or when a version will be available for the PC.

Re: Modern Warfare 3
Elite would have needed you to use matchmaking/peer-to-peer anyway. As a PC gamer I hate that. I need a level playing field, a dedicated server where everyone shares in distance ping and not a host with a 1 sided advantage. And that is probably why they won't bring it out. I'm playing (or was before Skyrim) the matchmaking because I want the level up system. The dedicated servers are terrible with lag but they are still better than that of match making. So everyone is going away from leveling and prefering a stable experience over it.
As activision said: "dedicated servers are about control and stability, matchmaking is about lag and being raped by the host" ...oh wait.

PC CoD Elite No Show: The Backpedal!
Today, we brought you the depressing news that Activision are unlikely to bring the Call of Duty social network called Elite, to the PC platform, despite all their loyal PC gamers, who have bought every iteration of the game going and in particular helped them achieve their blockbuster sales of $400M last week. This delight came courtesy of this tweet:
Well, what do you know, but it looks like Elite is coming to the PC platform after all. Yes, you heard that right. In a tweet a while later, Activision claim to have "misspoken", like this:@thejuggz We are working towards a universal Elite experience but we cannot guarantee if or when a version will be available for the PC.
So PC gamers will at least get the free version. Fantastic. Still second class, but better than nothing. Probably best to keep a close eye on those tweets and a sceptical outlook on this one until it happens. You couldn't make this stuff up.We misspoke. Our goal has always been to provide a free PC offering for ELITE. Stay tuned for an update as timing is still being determined.

Re: Modern Warfare 3
The game is much better now after the updates, I'd have to say it's an improvement on MW2 after all. As for the Elite fiasco, they are doing me a favour as I don't have to pay additional fees.

you best be trolling
Re: Modern Warfare 3
They are trying to ban it due to games costing roughly 30% more on the AU origin store than it costs on USA origin store. It is likely that EA will reduce prices instead of being banned

Re: Modern Warfare 3
Well its the same with us. I mean Dead Space 2 was R599 last I checked but its going for R100 in the shops. Not that I mind since it promotes using retailers instead.

Re: Modern Warfare 3
It didn't take me long to figure out that games in Aus a complete rip-off.
You dont like paying R300 for a game in SA? try payng the equivalent of R800 here.
I get all my games from distributors in the UK for a third of the price and who ship over here free...
That being said if they are trying to ban it here, I haven't heard.
