@Kronos: Just dip that gun in your avatar a little bit lower... that's right... now pull the trigger. ;-) Cost conscious dude, cost conscious.
Nothing wrong with it. Just have my eye on a 2005 Accord with 17000kms on the clock.

Looking for R129900

34000 on the clock with full service history from Honda Northcliff. Tires etc still good etc etc. Stock standard.

Why?

golfies are light on petrol.

And i cant see a +- 60K car's repayments be more than those 3 cars mentioned.

And since you already have it you already paid off on it.

The insurance i can understand.

Screw the banks.

Absa wants to grind me on 19.5% interest on financing R70k.

Keep what you have an shop around for better insurance rates.

Man you tell me i eventually made up my mind to buy a Mercedes C230K.
No one wants to give me finance only standard bank at 20% interest but with a 40K deposit. and according to the bank i cant afford a R3800 installment :?

I can get pre approved finance for 80K, my city was more than that

So my idea of buying a car is gone! Now i'm stuck with a citi.

Was funny as hell! Didn't take the loan though, including admin fees etc i would have paid back just about double what I received. Buggers. I'm sure "banker" is a promotion from "mugger".

@SBSP: I'm currently paying R1946 a month for that little golfie. And being a carb I'm only getting about 9.2litres/100km. Manufacturer estimates on the Yaris is 6.2/6.3. Insurance is about R920 a month.

At 43% the interest paid over the finance period will be more than the original amount financed. (Or could be more :p )

As far as I know that is illegal.

Um, if it's 43%pm then yes. Else, erm, R100 + 43% = R143

Exactly. At 43% you are bound to en up paying more in interest than the capital

Take the following

R100000 over 54months at 43% interest

Capital : 100000
Interest Paid : 128939.43

= Illegal.

um my sister has a 2004 Ford fiesta 2 door. she loves it. but apparantly when the electrics start to give hassles, you sell the car...

regarding Corsas, do a search on the forums, there was a thread a few years back about the quality issues. wouldn't touch one, even if they have improved the quality and the other thing is, AFAIK, general motors is having major finacial trouble.
