New Car: Yaris or Atos/Getz
I'm replacing my 1.4 Citi to save costs on repayments and (especially!) insurance. I'm looking at the T1/T3 Yaris with aircon or the Atos or Getz. Not the Atos so much, but an option. Right now I'm leaning towards the T3 and less so the T1.
Opinions (and reasons for opinions please)?

WHat are the service plans on the Toyota? Hyundai is 5yr 150 000k which is mental, somehting to consider for sure. My brother has a Getz 1.6, very happy with it.
My brother is in vehicle sales, I'll check with him, though I believe the Yaris would retain its value more than the Getz..

the getz has an excellent record for reliability. As for toyota, well their service on my corolla has been less than satisfactory. So STAY AWAY from killarney toyota. i think both brand models have expensive parts. i found riding in my friends getz more comfortable than in another friends yaris.
The other thing with toyota is that they don't keep most of their spares in stock. they have to order them in from a warehouse and this normally adds a day to the service of your car...

Dude, you aren't allowed to say the F-word on a public forum 8O
Stay away from anything French or Italian, they lose value faster than the Zimbabwean Economy at election time. I'll illustrate this with a useless fact a guy just traded in a Renault Megane on a 320D from my brother's dealership, book value was R130,000 odd on the Megane, settelement was about R180,000....he was HAPPY to get the R55,000 they paid him for the car....
Back O/T though, I think the Yoyota will hold it's value better than the Getz.
My brother has a Getz and the book value is currently around R30,000 lower than settlement, so he can't sell.

Either way, as soon as the car rolls out the show room, its starts to depreciate. Those pandas are small, yet are spacious, and have airbags, air con, etc. I'd take one over any korean car [of that class] anyday. And put Fiat and Hyundia together. Which one do you think would depreciate faster. I rest my case.
But like I said, if I had the option, I'd go for the yaris

Corsa is nice-Popular and good looking.
Rand stadium Toyota is where I got my parts from. I'm sending my Camry for a new Radiator to Rand stadium and they quoted R2k including labour and excluding the discount I'm getting. Silverton radiators are R1890 inc labour and I'm sorry but R110 more for the legit version is just a no brainer.
The Killarny Toyota is very very expensive. They quoted me R4000 for the same part inc labour.
Also I called Rand Stadium today and they will get the car fixed by tomorrow! 8O

Soon Google will know everything...including how to divide by zero
@po10cy: Similar to me and someone in an Audi TT a long while ago. Only recently stopped wanting to spit as a sign of disrespect when I see one.
Thanks for the input guys. Getz or Yaris. I'm leaning towards the Yaris based on fuel consumption and safety.
We'll see who gives a better trade in deal, installments and what the insurance premiums are.
Will keep you guys informed. Any more opinions welcome though.

well at the end of the day it all does come down to more financially sound and also safety, it can only be better for you to get the one thats a better deal. The yaris aint a bad car, and everyone here has their own personal preferance, but if you not really inclined to one or the other, then get whats best for your bank, and like you said safer.
when in doubt, paddle out...
