That's my only reason for hesitation when buying a joystick or wheel.Skidd wrote:I love my G25, Im a bit short on games to play with it though, maybe grid will fix that problem

Well I just bought the game and...
...
..
.
I love it! The game has the same arcade feel the NFS series has but with oh so much better realism and the graphics are to die for! I cant wait for the Formula 1 series to come out next year on this engine. BTW Running on a res of 1680*1050 full graphics settings and 4*MSAA all on a FX-62, 2GB RAM, 8800GT 512MB and Vista Ultimate. I'm in love...

not sure dont know the commands to get a frame count, also dont have fraps or anything like it (do you know of any freeware proggis?) but it was silky smooth. I had the one driver in front of me loose a tyre, crash into a barrier and fly straight into the air and I drove under him during that time I did not get 1 stutter. Unfortunitly I am at work so I cant do any testing will find some way to view FPS and post a screenie. BTW those of you with a quad core rig will benefite on the back of the box it says the game is enhanced for multi-core.

oh I thought fraps had locked fps for free, dont ask me why I thought that though ...
My dad think the graphics are way better than Dirt and I agree. On my current hardware Dirt was fugly, it looked good but it was unplayable in areas due to stutter.
Will download fraps now and when I get home I will test it (thats if my dad is off my pc by then ) and report back to you with a screenie.
BTW the back of the box says intergrated solutions are not supported re GPU and Audio, my dads lappie is a C2D 1.8Ghz with a hd2600 and it is unplayable for some reason...

Only thing locked in FRAPS is the compressed screenshot option and recording is limited as well.
Lol, wanna talk unplayable, my dad bought a gfx card for him to play Dirt, being a noobcake he bought a NV 7300. Regardless to say, he's still not playing Dirt.

I am changing the name of the thread to "Race Driver: Grid" so that the full game can be discussed.

Both are the same content wise, though the PC might have slightly, and I stress SLIGHTLY better visuals.1GOR wrote:which version is best, PS3 or PC?
You should take the game depending on which controller you have.
Keyboard < Gamepad < Wheel
and of course if your PC can run it.
"Science flies you to the moon. Religion flies you into buildings."
That's the only thing that annoys me about the replay cam.
Most of the time the crashes are impossible to see thanks to the track cam. And there's only one type of replay camera?! (excluding the default racing ones).
It annoyed me in DiRT, cause the crashes were AWESOME.
I'm getting stuck into Mass Effect after the exams are over, but I'll definitely consider getting this next.

thanks guys!

Well let me add my 10c.
I don not like the game at all. It is too arcade like for a Codemasters game and not realistic at all according to their standards.
This might be because I have been introduced to RFactor by a friend of mine a few months ago. (Clutch control incl in this game, G25)
Yes the damage and graphics is spectacular but I prefer the type of racing RFactor provides. (REALISM)
