The Instant shutdown...
I had my PC for about 4 years now. Since last Month, It starts shutting down instantly without a warning (it just goes off!!!...WHY!!!???...LOL). This happens when I am processing a lot of stuff. The programs that I use are very CPU intensive.
The question is why is it shutting down like this? Overheating???
Thanks

Try using it with the side panel off. If it still shut's down it's probally heat.
If it doesn't the problem was heat and running with the panel off solved your problem.

I tried removing the side panel but I had the same problem. I actually cleaned the heatsink with a blow dryer and paint brush, and it is better now. I’m too scared to actually rebuild the pc cos I don’t wanna damage my parts. Should try that though...

does it just turn off or does it go through the whole windows is shutting down...?
if it just turns off straight(as if someone pulled the plug) then have your PSU checked. My pc started doing that to me and it was coz i overloaded the PSU (to many HDD )

When it did shutdown instantly, the tower's lights were still on. Is this still the PSU???

you mean on the front panel? or you talking about the LED on the Mobo?the tower's lights were still on.
if your PC shut down, the lights on your front panel would go out... at least on all the PC's ive seen they do...
if youve cleaned out your heatsinks, removed the side of your case and it still does it... get a bigger PSU!

maybe remove the cpu HSF and replace the thermal paste - ive got to do that every 6 months with AS5 anyway - that stuff loses its effectiveness if you leave it on for more than 6 months
