lol... this resembles what the mods go through... make a thread about how you are not going to tell anyone... lol...DAE_JA_VOO wrote:Ag no, please stop PMing me and asking why Zell left, i'm not telling anyone.
Discipline Thread (POLL)

I think that the problem lies in that everyone uses nicknames and therefore can hide there real identity. They then do what they would not NORMALY do if they were using their true identity.
I say make all people use their real names
Also there needs to be a more defined line between the "Techie Forums" and the "Chillout...relax". If a person visits the site looking for answers and advice on a technical issue he is only going to be bombarded by all this 'Soap Opera' nonsense.

Re: Discipline Thread (POLL)
What do you mean about not being in the top 15? The thread is locked after a post, so it will move downward quickly. or do you mean it should not be in the technical section?Sojourn wrote:I totally understand why this thread was created Lance, dont take it as a personal attack because I dont agree with the system. It just looks unprofessional. As a middle-way, why dont you guys move it to an area where its NOT in the last 15 messages list. This way people can get the info they want, but it wont be "advertised" so to speak. I am not voting on this.lancelot wrote:Should this thread actually exist? Do you as posters want to know why certain measures have been taken or do you feel it is a private matter? Would you prefer to just have tags appear or a ban take place without any reference as to why?
The thread was my idea, based on what I would like to see, it was then agreed upon and posted. However I am always open to suggestions and it has been suggested that this thread is superfluous.
Now tell us, what do you want?

EDIT - I have voted yes, because I believe the tread serves a purpose. But that YES carries the condition of the thread not made available in the top 15 list.

OK Sojourn, I saw another post of yours, I have moved it out of PCForum to The Ward, will no longer show in Teccie index.

However, i don'tthink real names should be used on the forum. Last night i spoke to a member here, who was able to tell me my home address and my phone number, as well as my mum's First initial. He could also almost pin point my house on google earth. So i think personal info should not be given on a forum.

No offense mate, but any info used to track you is only given by yourself. If you choose to give out info its your own risk.DAE_JA_VOO wrote:However, i don'tthink real names should be used on the forum. I've only had a mod moan at me once and that was for a sig, wich was too big. My own stupidity. But most people here should grow up and smell the coffee. When they, or their friends do wrong and get punished, (wich is not harsh as the worst is being banned, and doesn't physically hurt you), they get angry and moan, and generally misbehave even worse. Grow up and do the right thing and apologize like a man and get on with your life.
