Windows stop error
I keep on getting a windows stop error.
Causing my windows to restart.
This is what the windows error report says:
"Error report summary
Error type : Windows stop error (A message appears on a blue screen with error code information)
Solution available? : No (see Next steps)
What does this error mean? : Windows has encountered an error from which it cannot recover and needs to restart
Cause : Unknown device driver
Computer symptoms : A message appears on a blue screen with error code information (for example: e.g. 0x0000001E, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED)
Additional steps for you to take : Important: Please continue to send error reports so analysts at Microsoft can study and try to correct the problem as quickly as possible"
Any idea how to identify which driver is messing things up?

SYMPTOMS
When you are using Windows XP, the following error message may be displayed:
STOP 0x0000001E KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
The STOP screen lists Aspi32.sys as the source of the STOP error.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if an older version of the Advanced SCSI Programming Interface (ASPI) layer is installed on your computer. By default, Windows XP does not include ASPI support.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, obtain and install ASPI version 4.57 or later. For information about how to do so, visit the following Adaptec Web site:
http://www.adaptec.com (http://www.adaptec.com)
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
ASPI extends the capabilities and number of devices that the operating system supports. You can determine what version of ASPI you have by viewing the Version tab in the Properties dialog box of the Aspi.sys or Aspi32.sys file. These files are typically located in the Winnt\System32\Drivers folder.

Perhaps memory, perhaps something else - I don't know enough about laptops from a technical perspective. Just an idea that it may be hardware, but I hope I'm wrong - might be software-related, might be OS-related. Anything in the system logs? Control Panel, Admin Tools, Event Viewer?
Also, right-click on My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Startup and Recovery, Settings - I always remove the check-mark from the "Automatically restart" option.

It is a hardware problem, probably wrong drivers are installed. Try to run a burning test it will tell which devices failed. I suspect USB drivers.
