Maybe for Linux? I don't have a DVD drive so I can't check, but as far as I know you need to burn Linux to CD to use it.neon_chameleon wrote:Hey hi Cameron. Cool that's great to hear. I've never of these OTCS before, hadn't you come to hear of them?Cameron Losco wrote:OTCS is going to be regular, we are a bit behind the Web site so you can go right ahead and download them if you want.
Anyway, Cameron, could you answer the question, why we seem to get free Nanya blank CDR's, with our copies? As an advertising promotion?

And the above is another prime example of what gets me hot under the collar - and you are powerless to change anything.style121 wrote:zeusbrown wrote:Got back from Uk yesterday so i am getting my 100th today. 9.4gigs? Seeerious?
We are so deprived over here, that something as common as a dual-layer DVD shipped with a mag is adequate reason to over-exclaim the word serious. Just barely a week ago two of SA's mainstream IT mags moved over to plain DVD's on their mag covers, while this tec has been doing the rounds for the last three years if not longer.
Why are we continually the tec underdogs when it comes to using and implementing what we perceive as "new", when it is nothing but a few years old in Europe, the US and Japan.
Thats just the tip of it... dont get me started on online connectivity issues involving telkom. Broadband and the whole hoo-ha around pricing and monopolies is nothing but killing opportunities in our growing economy.

Cant wait for Spore and F.E.A.R. !!!!!!!!
My guess - numbers. The number of DVDs printed locally must be tiny compared to overseas. As such there is a cost premium over CDs. I would guess it's all about cost. There's just too liittle demand for cuting edge stuff.Sojourn wrote:...

R55 per mag, and I think it is R10 a month for the Shipping......
Now that sounds like a plan
........I guess I would still buy the SA one....Even tho I will get repeats of articles a month later
Me and my prediction skills say......
"In the August Edition, PCformat SA will be doing a "Exclusive" test on ATI crossfire" just a guess tho

Heaven’s to Betsy, a great issue to be sure. Being a gaming geek by my own admission it was the E3 supplement that caught my eye.
Would’ve given my left nut to be in LA when that went down.
That new Sim game Spore, looks like a definite winner
