AGP 8x and 4x

AGP 8x and 4x

I benchmarked my pc with 3dmark 2001.
With my Geforce fx 5700 I get 11280. When I change it to 4x(instead of 8x), there is only a 50 mark difference!
Is something wrong or is agp just not fully utilised?

Not fully utilised, correct.
