In that case, mine is better as it's rugged like a 4x4. When I break something in the software I have to fix it, in XTerminal, on the device itself. No pansy bottom reflashing happening here. Also I can load a 230MB excel file in a device with only 258MB of ram while the same fails on a device with 1GB of ram (I'm looking at you GS2)

It's so good it can run various operating systems incl. Win95 (in dosbox), MacOSX, Debain LXDE (virtual machine), Android (Nitdroid port), Meego, Mer and it's default OS Meamo.

WIN!

I for one will not go down that route.

MY PHONE IS THE BEST BECAUSE IT IS PRETTIER THAN THE REST AND ALSO IT IS FAST. ALSO NO LAG. ALSO IT HAS A SONY BRAVIA ENGINE. ALSO WE SHALL NEVER MENTION WIFI.
And.... Its a Sony. Belonging to the same people who your PS3 belongs to. And your TV. And who you cant sue if they balls up?

i'll be joining the community of smartphone users in December/January.... :D

looking at getting the Samsung GS2 or an HTC (don't know which, depends on the contract)....
won't be getting a BB or Nokia or iPhone (useless having an iphone and an ipod touch, and it's too pricey for me)...
i would prefer the Samsung as my last 2 phones have been samsungs and i have had no problems with them....

and i won't be "jailbreaking", and changing this or that, doing this to it or that to it... :P

N900, not the easiest of devices out there but it sure is fun to play with.

Honestly, upgrading next year July is going to be a difficult choice. I want a linux device with lots of storage and a h/w keyboard, unfortunately it doesn't look like I'll get something fitting the bill. I would love a N9 even though it's missing a k/b, but availability might be a problem by that time. Otherwise a android device is the only other option, not really what I want but what are you going to do?

I must say that N9 is absolutely stunning. Honestly sucks that the OS won't go any further though.

There are people in the Maemo/Meego community working on doing stuff with Meego even if no official support were to come from Nokia ( Nokia promised at least one update). On the other hand Samsung and Intel have teamed up to create Tizen, what I don't lke about the situation is that they are focussing on html5 development rather than continuing with Meego's current approach.

Yeah, the best for one person isn't always the best for another. People couldn't understand why I took the Desire when the Desire HD was going for the same price. (Having too much bulk in my pockets annoys the frig outta me)

True dat. However I heard that Sony has a company policy ensuring that all the parts on their products are replaceable. So if something does go wrong, they can swap out the faulty bit.

Doesn't matter, there'd still be the tent pole effect in my pocket. I imagine.

Yes, but I'm just slightly taller than Ron, so in relation to my own size... did I mention my OCD? :P

Anyway, I just had a glimpse at the HD in a store and decided that smaller is better without much thought. I should have had more hands on time with it maybe but it's too late for that now.

Just dropped my phone in the parking lot at the church. Got a nice, big spiderweb crack on the top right corner stretching down. :(
