Burn that PC, it's easier!
Re: Rig of the month!!
That's one thing hey. I refuse to work on a pc that is not at least capable running Windows 7. If I get to a persons house and the machine came with Noah from the ark, I politely decline the work.
Normally I restart a pc even before I work on it and I'm not going to take the responsibility if something fails on the restart due to 100 year old components. And normally their response is: "It was working 100% before you touched/restarted it".

Re: Rig of the month!!
actually I prefer working on ancient machines as you never know what lurks beneath the layers of dust and insects(like a treasure hunt). One PC that I worked on had not one but 2 Voodoo 2's in it, and also had 2 866Mhz PIII's ......that was just awesome, however it turned out that one of said Voodoo's was fried
But one thing I always ask the owner is "does it have an ECS mobo?" if so I refuse to work on it. Every time I have worked on a ECS based PC, I end up swearing and wanting to throw it out the widow nothing ever works the way it should
Yea I have no idea how that dead rat got in there
