So what gfx cards do you guys rate at the best perfomance/price ratio?

Anyone´s opinion on the Radeon 9500?

Heres a few Madmonkey:
 
 DX 7 Cards
 Geforce MX 460,440,400 - R400-R1000
 Radeon 7500 series- R500-R800
 
 DX 8 Cards
 Geforce Ti 42,46,4800 - R1200-R3000
 ATI 8500,9000,9100 - R900-R1200
 
 DX 9 Cards
 Geforce FX 52,56,58,5900 - R1000-R4500
 ATI Radeon 92,95,96,97,9800 - R1200- R5000
 
 In the end it all comes down to your own judgement from what you see in benchmarks and reviews and personal preference, however budget can have a serious affect on judgment. These price ranges i´ve given are the general ranges you find in our market but mayb a few guys can help you here if you ask them really nicely!

i now have a radeon 9100, that really is´nt too great. I am looking for an upgrade. Which card would you recommend (I am an ATI fan, mind you).

I will sell you my 9700NP for R4550, Only jokin!!! If you have the money that price will get you a 9800PRO from cyberdyne, dont bother looking for the 9700 range (at least if you are in durban) it exists no more <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_cry.gif"> ,
 
 I would stay away from the 9800SE and everything else is fair game!!!PS if you have the money go for a 5900ULTRA!!!!

 The 9500 is not in production anymore, but if you can get your gready little hands on 1 take it, just make sure it is the 9500PRO!
 
 I bought myself the 9700PRO a month ago and I must say it is a sweet card, this card can handle everything for the next 2years, then I´ll probably nedd 2 upgrade again <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_frown.gif">
 
 Buying a new gfx card as you call it is not a easy thing.
 
 1. You shoudl decide is what sector of the GPU market u are investing in. Mainstream, Top Range....don´t even consider bottom of the range <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_mad.gif">
 2. Is it better buying top of the range MAINSTREAM card or Bottom of the range HIGH END card? <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_confused.gif">
 3.BUDGET.....how much money can you steal from you sister´s piggybank and can you copy your parents signature on their cheques <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_lol.gif">
