I never believe anything Telkom says, they probably bulldozed the lines again by accident, anyway some redundancy would be nice

Oh well they have redundancy but it is in the way they operate. They have one paper trail in order to get to another paper trail. Then they have a paper trail just to manage the correlation between those papertrails. And in the end of the day after about 6 months you get your info and all you wanted was a damn quote.

I've also noticed this, just thought my internet connection was slow, since it has been the whole weekend.

A bit earlier I couldn't even check my email at gmail. The site just wouldn't load.

Seems to be some problems as well tonight :(

Yeah, welcome to Hellkom, i've posted this joke in the jokes session but i gotta post it here, it is very relevant to the problem :
News extract :
After digging to a depth of 100m last year, Russian scientists found traces of copper wiring dating back 1000 years, and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network one thousand years ago.

So as not to be outdone, in the weeks that followed, American scientists dug 200m, and headlines in the US newspapers read: "US scientists have found traces of 2000 year old optical fibres, and have concluded that their ancestors already had advanced high-tech digital telephones 1000 years earlier than the Russians."

One week later, the South African press reported the following: "After digging as deep as 500m, S.A. scientists have found absolutely nothing. The government have concluded that 5000 years ago, their ancestors were already using mobile phones due to cable theft problems."
