Hello everyone,
I need to install an application on a PC that access the internet via a corporate proxy (with authentication). The problem is that the setup file is one of those that starts the installation, and then downloads the complete setup file from the net. It does not have an option to supply the proxy server and authentication info.
Is there a way to give this program the required proxy info so that it can download the files it needs from the net?
Thanks

Re: Download blocked by proxy
I'll try find something to help you but it's really hard and you may have to run a linux OS to do so (probably rendering the whole process useless.)

Re: Download blocked by proxy
Ask the person or company that setup your proxy to create an IP address that bypasses or doesnt use the proxy. Then when you are done they can change it again.

As far as i know, it appears that i may be wrong though. Connections that do not give you the option of selection of filling in the proxy, it would take the systems proxy setting which would be configured in your Internet options.

IIRC you need to add the proxy settings to your IE and FF browsers

or have IT add your machine's IP to the proxy exclusion list...

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, it is a no go on having my IP added to the proxy exclusion list (company policy and all that).
The proxy settings are entered correctly for all web browsers, and also under Internet Options.
It seems like this is a lost case

What is the program you are trying to install?
AFAIK, most webbased installers usually have an offline counterpart for installing on pcs without internet access
