Telkom Mega 100WR as a wireless router on exist netgear LAN?

Post by freon »

hi
i figure i should be able to use my Telkom 100WR as a Wireless router only on my netgear 384 LAN. I have tried fiddling with IP addresses to get my cellphone to connect through the Gateway on the Netgear IP's without success. The Wconnection shows up, and connets with my phone (Nokia 5800) but browser can't get through the gateway.
Seems to be an IP issue to me as I need to change my computers IP's to 10.0.0.2 to be able get onto the Mega, and then change them back to the 192.168's to be able to get onto the internet???

open up the settings panel of the netgear router, go to the page about it acting as a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) and set it to give ip addresses between 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.253

Then connect to the telcom device and change it's ip to 192.168.0.254 and turn off its DHCP function.

EDIT: Fixed a terms mistake
