Internet radio programs

Post by PsyCLown »

Hey all,

I need some help. I want to start a web-based radio.
I am now looking for a program that will be able to do what I want done :)

Firstly I will have my PC and then an international PC hooked up to a nice fast line.
I then need some program that will play music on my PC, it will then possibly re-encode the music and send it to the server and from there the server will broadcast it to all of the listeners tuned in.

I am sure this is possible? Don't see why it wouldn't be. So now I just need to find a program that is able to do something like I mentioned above.

Any of you able to help me out?

Thanks

unless the music you're playing and content you're reporting is your own....

Would prefer it to be private and be able to use my own server :)

If I'm not mistaken the Shoutcast service that you run is your own server, and I'm pretty sure there are settings to make it private. For what you wanna do is run the server on the PC hooked up to the fast international line to rebroadcast whatever your PC is playing through Winamp.

Though if you've got something running already and you're happy then ignore my post! :P
