Server 2008 R2 Virtual Networking Setup

Hi

I have a Sun Fire X4150 server, with 4 NIC's.

Currently its running Windows DataCentre Server 2008 R2, with one virtual machine running Windows Standard Server 2008 R2. The Standard server is also the domain controller, IIS, DHCP and DNS servers.

I want :

1. The two server's to communicate with each other.
2. To use all 4 NIC's to connect each server to the network redundantly.

Nr 1 I have done... I've setup a Internal Virtual Network (virtual network ID 1), and given both server's an IP on this network (10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2). The servers can connect to each other. Now, I want each server to connect to the network.

The parent server is connected by a physical NIC... Assigned an IP to NIC1, and then the server is accessible on the network via that IP.

I cannot get the virtual machine to show on the network... I've made a External Virtual Network (virtual network ID 2) and added another virtual NIC to the VM, and connected it to this virtual network, but I still cannot access the server from an external PC.

So the setup is like this currently :

VM :
Virtual NIC1 : connected to virtual network 1 (working)
Virtual NIC2 : connected to virtual network 2 (not working)

Parent :
Virtual NIC1 : connected to virtual network 1 (working)
Physical NIC1 : connected to network (working)
Physical NIC2 : connected to virtual network 2 (not working)
Physical NIC3 and NIC4 : not connected

How can I get virtual network 2 to connect to the physical outside network?

what ip range is your physical network? if different from 10.0.0. than it wont work. it's just that u don't mention the ip range/subnet of your network.
