i've been having ftp woes in win7. can't connect to my server using CuteFTP, FireFTP or FileZilla. i keep getting an error when it tries to verify my password. i know that my password is correct, however, because using the came username and password from the cpanel lets me in no problem. it's not a firewall issue, as i've ensured that my firewall lets the ftp protocol through, and have even tried after disabling the firewall.

anywho, a brief google search revealed that this is a known problem and will be fixed in future builds. irritating as hell for now, but at least they know about it.

To all the folks that I said I'll send a copy to:

Unfortunately I won't be able to do this anymore. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. I don't have the time to go to a post office and send out 20 DVD's (that's how many requests I got).

If you have a problem with that, I'm sorry.

I'm sure that it is on a local server somewhere for downloading.

You don't need a local mirror to download since microsoft do mirror their stuff locally afaik. You just need international bandwidth to get the download going..once that is done then just pause their download manager disconnect your international and download via local account..thats what I did and it worked like a charm..d/l'd in about 1 day with stops n starts etc.

As for the OS..yep using it as my primary and its seems to be good! Very vista-ish but yeah that was expected. Boot times do make a difference though :) As for problems there are some hardware specific issues etc. (haven't had any myself) so I would recommend doing a prelim google search with your specific hardware components and their compatibility with Windows 7 and then taking the plunge. Might make things a whole lot easier and save u time :)

Windows 7 Build 7127 has been leaked today.
There are bug fixes, maybe the FTP issue is resolved.
