shared printing problem

Post by bborain »

Hi There,

I recently setup a new HP pc with windows xp sp2 loaded and an HP Laserjet 1020 printer connected via USB. I can print fine from this computer to this printer. I shared the printer and installed it using network printer on a laptop on my lan and everytime i setup a print job from the laptop the just sits in the queue and holds up all jobs. And whats even more strange is when I reboot the computer the print job finally comes through. Does anyone know why this is happening or know of a fix?
Oh and the laptop is also windows xp sp2

Try restarting the print spooler. It is a windows service so it is easy to restart if you can find it.
