4 new Need for speed games on the way

Post by Siemens »

Yes you've read it correctly.
4 games 4 developers. And suprising, the sacked blackbox is still one of them.

Need for Speed Shift - "core" title, and will be out on PS3, 360, PC & PSP
Need for Speed: Nitro - for the DS & Wii, which presumably has giant-head racers and car vaults (It sounds like mario kart type of game)
Need for Speed: World Online - a free-to-play online title
The final one is still unkown but they said it is a "future action title in the franchise".

This is ,according to EA , going to be a revamp of the entire series.
So let's hope this revamp will get it right.
Nitro and world online sounds pretty interesting and I'm keen to see what the final products are going to be. Giant head only really works if the characters are cartoonlike and I dont think a lot of people will like the idea of a cartoonlike racer.
The online game can also be kick-bottom but then the game must be sure to provide a lot more customizable parts and appearance.

Is only South African PC's having problems with the game then? I tried playing it again, but 20 minutes later decided the game simply is too bad to play.

Let's hope EA fires everyone and get a new team from Crytek or Infinity Ward to do the development...It's the only way I might consider paying their un-earnt salaries again. :?

NFS is getting really boring. Unless they come up with something completely new I'll consider buying it

Hell no, then it will only work on PCs from the distant future.

However, I'm willing to give the multiplayer a shot.

I thought EA said they were canning the NFS series? Have they changed their mind again? Weird....why the 360?

NFS is the suck. Not in anyway interested. I'll buy other racing games that don't have their head up their azz.

Well, we don't know for sure, but we can safely assume that the games will suck based on the previous games. If you hated all the previous "The office" seasons, and they announced Season 6, you'd be able to safely assume that Season 6 would suck, not so? :P

I've actually got an original copy of the new NFS (Undercover) lying on my desk, that i haven't touched. I got it as a gift from someone about 4 days ago, and i just haven't had the time or will to play it yet :P

I gotta bump up what Silverbck said... Not 2 months ago, EA announced resoundingly that they were dumping the NFS brand, as it had run it's course. Rumors then circulated of a "Fast And Furious" series being produced as the NFS replacement... Now EA pipes up with "We will be releasing another 4 versions of NFS".... I just don't get it....

im gonna give this a skip, undercover was THE worst driving game i played, THE WORST. the graphics were terrible, i mean didnt they test the game before releasing? traffic cones popping up everywhere, its like instead of going forward and making better and better games, they making worse and worse games.

its like that movie where the guy is born old and grows younger...their old titles were brilliant and its getting sloppier and sloppier.
when in doubt, paddle out... ;)

If you're really bored some day and got the future update patch, then only try to play it...

NFS underground 1 was the first NFS game I played. That one I played 24/7.
When I got the NFS underground 2 demo is was so awesome I immediatly started saving up for the full version. Also played it non-stop for quite a while.
When I bought Most Wanted, the new game style was refreshing and I enjoyed it. But after a few weeks got a bit bored with it.
When Carbon came out I finished it in 2 days, and played it through a few times more.
ProStreet sucked, and even I don't know why I played it some, stopped and then played it again.
And I'm pretty sure I can count on my hands the amount of times I launched undercover. :?

All this doesn't point in a good direction, so personally I don't think there is much hope unless extreme changes are made.

And here they were saying the world was going to end in 2012. It's sooner than they thought.

Just jesting, I'll wait for reviews on this though everything after Most Wanted has been all but a disappointment.
