Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
Ja can't believe you guys don't know those retail stores? I have like 15 games lined up for my 360 when I feel rich again.
Bought Skate for R200 and that was more then most other places had it for.
Just connected up all my movies and pics to my 360.
So much better then watching with a small 17" screen.

Lost Planet online was quite entertaining.

He means games that might be on PC sometimes just stay on console.OnlyOneKenobi wrote:What?StoneIce wrote:I hate XBOX!! AND PS3... they steal the PC games. lol
however I think this will change. The market is changing and we've seen many a game destined only for the PS3 jump to the 360 or PC because of the depression.
Money is the bottom line and the PS isn't the dominating console it once was.
I'm hoping for GT6 to switch to the 360 [or next gen console after the 360].
In other news: the 360 has rekindled my love of games after many a year spent on PC titles.
No more expensive PCs now. I rate a good PC but with a medium graphics card and the latest [PS/Xbox/Wii] will do it for me.

Sticking to a single platform makes you a fanboy not a gamer.
I'm with Frozen on that. Never again will I spend R6k+ on a single VGA. Sorry but playing a game on PC with it's 2 million x AA / AF doesn't hold a candle to playing the very same game stretched out on a couch in front of a big screen TV without it imo.
I'll always play FPS on PC but for everything else there's absolutely nothing keeping me to it.

Yeah I agree, and FPS's are the only reason why I haven't ditched a performance computer completely. For everything else, there's Xbox.Rayne wrote:Sticking to a single platform makes you a fanboy not a gamer.

Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
Well it's very rare for a title not to be a multi platform release - look at Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, GTA 4, Gears of War 1 - all had improved PC versions released after the console version. There are only a handful of franchises which are truly (stay) exclusive to one platform : Halo, God of War, Grand Turismo, Uncharted & Resistance are the ones which immediately come to mind.Frozenfireside wrote:He means games that might be on PC sometimes just stay on console.OnlyOneKenobi wrote:What?StoneIce wrote:I hate XBOX!! Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
Yeah but I expect even a few of those exclusive titles to come to the 360.
GT is stubborn in it's approach to console selection though.
Additional: I've noticed because I have more fun on my 360, I have played Skate from start to almost finished which is new for me.
Usually I don't complete a game because I get disheartened by it and lose interest.
Usually I'm playing on PC.
I'm looking forward to Skate 2 immensely.

Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
MAXCONSOLEMS hikes up prices of games in South Africa, gamers fight back.
Towards the end of 2008, MS confirmed that it was to increase the prices of games titles in South Africa. MS blamed the exchange rate for the increase in pricing, however games were retailing for much less in other parts of the world, so South African gamers were understandably annoyed. This sparked a huge backlash through many communities, and gamers made it clear to MS that they either drop the prices back to normal or they will just import games at cheaper prices. MS has decided to give in and games are now back to their normal pricing in the region!

Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
So we were getting ripped off
Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
Prices have been back to normal since last week, though importing games is rapidly becoming a trend amongst SA forumites, that even with the normal pricing at ~R699 gamers can import from the UK the very same game for ~R499.
For example, I bought LittleBigPlanet for the PS3 at the beginning of the month for R325 including postage and sold it off yesterday for R500. It's practical business sense for those in the know, especially for someone like myself who doesn't necessarily keep every game bought.
Also, this whole MS fiasco was, allegedly, sorted out by a fellow forumite by the nick of Lupus, found primarily at Prophecy. Details of the whole affair are at the site.
Has anyone played The Last Remnant, and are the technical frustrations as serious as touted by the various gaming reviewers, even with HD installed gameplay?

Is it just me who love the xbox controller? It feels so comfy and when holding it makes in the mood for button mashing.

Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
I think my longest grind so far was around 7 hours 20 something minutes and that was on GTA, without pain or problem. It's designed well yes. Well, everything besides the D-Pad that is. Should there ever be a DOA5, which I doubt, I'm definately getting a fighting stick for it.
And speaking of pick up 4 Siemens. You'll soon be button mashing no more.
