One thing, steel will make it bloody heavy. DeanMF built a cube case that was a steel frame and plastic panels and once all the hardware was in, it was 20kg's

I get what you are saying, I do.Firestrm wrote:UrBaN, UV reactive is getting old.... its doesnt look so grand.... but to each his own......
I'm just not sure the avenue has been fully explored, I personally haven't ever SEEN what I have in mind, done on another mod.
Maybe I should look harder.

Anyway if you want to do the UV reactive do it and see what it looks like. If you are willing to spend some $$ on something which you might not like. You can always change it afterwards for a fiew more $$$

Anorexic? Lol just 'cos I can see my peepee, and can count my abs (6 at the mo) doesn't make me anorexic bud....
But here, I brought you lunch as a truce.

RuadRauFlessa, A UV LED should cost very little, and I saw the uv paint at a PC shop in PTA - was R15 I think...
Anyway, just a thought, I will have to research it more before I do anything...

Re: Potential Case mod
Doing your homework is always the good thing to do. That is why my mod looks like it is standing still at the moment. I want to coverl all the aspects before I start with something. And even R15 is too much for me if it means that I will be doing it over in the end.UrBaN wrote:RuadRauFlessa, A UV LED should cost very little, and I saw the uv paint at a PC shop in PTA - was R15 I think...

Re: Potential Case mod
I just noticed some posts about UV reactive modding being old and not worth doing anymore
here's some ideas, I think I've mentioned before: You won't believe how awesome it can look.
1. This is one I did personally so I know how nice it is:
Take your perspex sidepanel and if you have skills / money. Have a anime or action or whatever you fancy image airbrushed onto it. If you don't have money. Print with a good quality Inkjet onto transparency sheet and stick it onto your sidepanel. Already it looks AWESOME.
Take any colour (yes there's lots of colours) UV Marker / paint (marker is better for this 'cos it's fine and more precise) and emphasis the main parts if the picture and the outline. You gotta see it to understand.
2. UV reactive liquid solution for your watercooling (again, any colour) OR just the UV reactive Tubing.
3. UV reactive PVC Sheeting. Easy to cut to any custom shape. And uses are almost limitless.
Don't flame me. I've always been and still am fascinated with UV. Luckily I know my limits and don't overdo it, ever. I like to just emphasise slightly with UV
Tell me this doesn't look cool!
A bit too much for me, but nice UV neatness.

Re: Potential Case mod
Yup, you see, that looks awesome to me. I love the way the PC changes from a conservative setup to a glowing beast at the flick of a switch...
I don't particularly care if other people think UV is old-fashioned - the input I'm looking for is more along the lines of - as far as UV goes, what do you think of my idea.
Thank Synthia, appreciate the post.

Re: Potential Case mod
Oooh blue lights - soooo pretty. The idea seems really great and I like your ideas. Have you updated the diagram or is the one on the first page still the old one?
Re: Potential Case mod

You didn't post my option though...UV LED lighting
I do prefer the UV look overall to be honest.
