Stupid question
I know this may be a dumb question, but if I want to play around with HTML, is the best way to start by opening up Notepad and typing away or is there a program out there that does it for me? Remeber, I know nothing about HTML, so speak english to me! <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif">

Stupid question
Why not use something like Frontpage or Dreamweaver instead, especially if you don´t know anything about HTML? Or pick up a net mag and use one of the editors on there.

Stupid question
Is HTML not your "first" language to learn when u want to design web pages? Apart from Dreamweavers price I have been told it is the best software for web page design but I think it´s kinda fun to play with HTML. Says I who have been learning it now for two weeks!

"Integrity" and "integer" both contain a Latin root meaning "whole; complete." The root sense, then, is that people may be said to be acting with integrity when their beliefs, words, and actions have a sense of unity or wholeness.
Stupid question
I found this webpage and am slowly going through this. I´m enjoying it! <!-- BBCode auto-link start --><a href="http://www.pagetutor.com/pagetutor/makapage/" target="_blank">http://www.pagetutor.com/pagetutor/makapage/</a><!-- BBCode auto-link end -->

You can use Macromedia Homesite 5 for the real HTML encoding and writing and stuff. Frontpage does at a lot of junk with your site (HTML lines and needless tags and stuff) but if you are new then its your best hit. Remember the best is to go out and try it yourself. Homesite offers colour tags, so you can see the diffrence between HTML and the stuff you see on your site. It also auto completes the tag.
Good luck.

If you want to learn HTML, then it's not IMHO a good idea to use programs that do it for you. Notepad for some reason is always suggested as the first place to start when learning HTML, but I think it is a bit much as it is quite difficult to spot a problem in the code when everything is the same color. As said, there are programs that auto-color your tags and their attributes and even auto-complete some of them. The latter feature is not a good thing, IMO, because it doesn't actually help you learn the code as well as you would learned it if you typed it by hand.
HTML-kit is a program that I have been using for a good long time now and there are plenty of plug-ins and what not.
HTML is hellova easy to learn, trust me. While your are it, learn CSS.

Learing HTML is like ABC. It is very basic all there really is to it (at first!!) is learing the basic tags ie <p> to start a paragraph and </p> to end it. I have put a very good zipped tutorial on my site. Check out www.thug4life.9f.com and download HTMLTutorial.zip (BE SURE TO DO A VIRUS SCAN BEFORE OPENING IT. I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSABILITY FOR ANY VIRUS IN THIS ZIP FILE)
