Changing Monitor Frequency

Post by tjecco »

Hey.

I've just installed ‘The Settlers - Heritage of Kings’ but everything i go into the game the monitor switches off and I only hear sound.

Does anyone know if I can change the frequency of the default game settings to 60 Hertz?

I don't have this game, but look if you can find where the game setting file is stored, but I have no idea where or what extension it might be. Try opening it in notepad or something, and see if you can edit it. I had to do this once with Battlefield 2142...

It could be that the game is trying to run at a resolution or refresh rate which exceeds the capabilities of your monitor. See if the game has a "safe mode" start which will make everything run at low settings which should get your display back.

also check to see if there is a seperate config file. It should say config.ini or something like that. You'll find it in the games program files folder. Look for your display settings in that file and see if you can alter resolution or refresh rate. Before you mess around with this file i'd suggest you copy it to a seperate folder as a back up in case you mess up so you can just copy the original back.

also make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.
