It's less than 300 points faster in 3DMark03 & less than 200 in 3DMark05.Gino wrote:http://www.pcwelt.de/tests/hardware-tes ... ndex2.html

No thanx. If you don't have a X800XTPE yet and your looking for 1 the get it.
I wanna see the SA retail prices 1st.
Another PS: Don't you guys see the irony in ATI :
- Now also caught optimizing drivers for the 3DMark series...
- Now also switching 2 double slot solutions...
- Now also requiring higher PSU's...
- Now also working on SLI interface...
- Now also using bridge chipped PCI-E & not native solutions...
- Now also developing Hypermemory 2 cut production costs...
Whilst badmouthing nVidia in press conferences & interviews in mags & all over the web for doing these exact same things prior?
Even though they currently outperform their nVidia counterparts they manage so barely.
Just who's the actual leader here?
& no I'm not starting a war here. I cannot be the only 1 realizing this.

True but still hey... Why are these oke's always babling about the other. Just give us as consumers what you have 2 offer & shut the f*** up.Gino wrote:But does this realy matter? In the end its what you get for the money!
I'm angry now for seeing another site comparing a top-end ATI 2 it's lesser nVidia counterpart. I've seen a few guys doing this by now. It's ridiculous. If you cannot do an apples for apples comparison don't do it period.

ill have to agree with Rayne. Dont get me wrong, im an Ati fan all the way, but i find it very stupid for a company to take the moral high ground and drill the competion for doing things while they themselves are doing the same thing!
I always thought of this battle as a waste of time... lets be honest, who here will not go out and bya Nvidia card if they make the fastest and greatest card in the world? ill tell you how many ZERO, NULL, NO ONE. why? because in the end of the day we are all consumers and as consumers we are always looking for the best deal. Ati have being giving us that but are now become the next Nvidia. i think they need to stop for a moment and see what they did over the last 3 years and do the same!

Then you have a rather moronic statement made by Nerevar here! Nerevar tell me what goes on in ur head when you feel the need to write those comments?
I am totally at a loss with regards to fanboi's, no basis whatsoever yet they make statements which are so bold!
Gino put it the best so far, and its a way everyone should look at things:

The decision on which GFX card is better should be made using merit and that cards respective performance with regards to price otherwise please STFU.But does this realy matter? In the end its what you get for the money!

I think healthy rivalry in the end benifits the consumer so we should all stop whining and let ATI and nVidia get on with their business.

If you were to be given a “blind gaming test” between the X850XT-PE and X800XT-PE, we think that it would be near impossible to tell any difference between them based on gaming experience.
The ATI Radeon X850XT-PE isn’t a viable upgrade for those that already have X800XT’s or X800XT-PE’s, even if it was an AGP card. In fact it seems to be what the X800XT-PE should have been if it would have ever had any real retail availability. However, if you are moving to a new PCI-Express platform, and want the best from ATI, the X850XT-PE will obviously fit the bill.
Make no bones about it, the X850XT-PE can easily best the NVIDIA 6800Ultra in many of today’s latest 3D gaming titles, and Catalyst driver maturation is evident in these latest evaluations. And while it does fall a bit behind in DOOM 3, it hardly delivers anything close to what could be described as “bad” performance. Still, at a suggested retail price of US$549, the Radeon X850XT-PE should give you nothing less than the ultimate gaming experience in every gaming title.
AFAIK the X800XL is the card to watch from the batch released and with RRP of $350 i would be watching that as a winner all round!

I agree but not even then. PCI-E is not that much faster. Both the X800XT / PE & 6800 Ultra's will keep you happy well into 2006. PCI-E will be more evolved by then & Intel will stock their own 64bit CPU's. Which already speculated 2 give AMD a run for it's money.Nerevar wrote:Why on earth do you want to upgrade to a X800 or a 6800 agp....... Wait and buy a new pc with pci express and a 64bit cpu!
True. But check hardocp news (saw it roughly 2 odd weeks ago). Intel is said 2 work on a monster CPU. Their boards will also sport nForce5.Nerevar wrote:Remember, when Nforce 4 is out and running and ATI also has a new PCI express line up of cards to go with the Nforce4 and Athlon 64..... = big performance!!!!!
Oh yes. Marketing @ it's best. You know Valve will be making a few HL2 spin-offs for top-end ATI cards though? I think maybe the upcoming R5** series. The PlayStation3 will be using ATI R520 something. More advanced than our current X850XTPE's. So for a mth or 2 we'll be left behind by our concole counterparts.Nerevar wrote:I see big things for AMD and ATI in 2005, with HL2, ATI saw what it means to have a game developed for their Radeon cards.....
