DirectX 9.0c

Post by Dakes »

I tried to install 3DMark05 yesterday from the holiday edition cover disk but it wants DirectX 9.0c to be installed when I currently have 9.0b. I don't have an internet connection at home and was wondering if DirectX 9.0c was put on any of the cover disks. If so, on which one is it?

I have had the same problem. 3DMark05 doesn't work with DX 9.1. I wonder why.

You can download it here
It isn't a large file.

*edited to prevent page width expansion - I just shoved the url behind a link text - Synkronos*

9.0c you mean. 9.1 isn't available

That's because it's the web installer. You download that little file, and it then downloads the rest for you.

This is the link to the redistributable, and it's just shy of 35Megs.

And I'm not sure, but I don't think it's been on any PCF cover disks so far.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

you can download the redistributable off the ms site
then install at home

*slightly off topic* i recently installed a game which said that my direct x is not the correct version it requires (i got 9c) and re-installed my dx.

not that i have any problems or anything, but i find it quite weird

anyone else experience this?

edit : oops didn't read your entire post synkronos...... oh well :P

Some games check to see if DX version *equals* something, rather than equals or exceeds. Poor coding on the installer's part. I'm trying to remember what game gave me the exact same message recently... If I remember, I'll let you know. What gave you the error message?

Forget it, I found it. About 33.4MB. Don't know if I'll have enough time to download it though. Have to leave at 15:00.
