connecting old laptops

guys, i urgent help. i got my hands on an old acernote 950, now i need to connect it to my desktop. it doesn't have any network card or anything i can stick a network cable in. any ideas? mind you, its got an ir port but the drivers seem to need win95, i got the cd but the laptop has no cd-rom. help!!

Get a laplink cable (or called a direct cable connection). Authough very slow it can still transfer data. It connects in the printer port.

What OS are you running on your desktop?

xp, what does a laplink look like and im running dos 7.1 on laptop

Oh, ok its that old... I dont think those cables run on anything less than windows 95! It just looks like a double sided printer cable (the LPT one)
