DNS server

Should pop3 and imap services be running on a DNS server?

Those are mail-services, so it's up to you. If the server is meant only for DNS, turn those services off.
Be polite, professional and have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

...and the "DNS zone transfer" service running on port 53? I suppose that should be available? 8O
