OMG, that's the best description I've ever heard for slow performance. POWERPOINT MODE, you should register/copyright that as an officail word/phrase-ASSASSIN- wrote:Yes it will, but both mine and yours will run it in Powerpoint mode....junjun wrote:will it work on my gpu?

Talking about drivers, i think the ppl that actually create these driver must be mentally unstable, or extremely bored. WHO THE HELL WILL GIVE A DRIVER A NAME LIKE THIS AND A QUOTE:
wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-051-040825a-017633c
Now 4 the ppl that don't know,...this is the new Cat4.9 for ATI cards, hey..... CAT4.9, now isn't that easier to understand than the above mentioned monstrosity of a name.
The only way I would know which driver is newer than the other is 2 look @ the data modified attribute, and if you don't know where that is then you are worse of than the ppl that name these drivers.
AMEN, and may hell rain on these A-Holes for making driver names so difficult to understand, you need a PhD in Quatum whatever to understand it. 8O

Damn solo, you only get that much with your powerhouse of a rig? 8O
I don't think I even want to try benchmarking with 3DMark '05...

No, the unregistered version fulfills its purpose, which is to produce a benchmark. If I were more competitive and could upgrade to keep up with the top end performance and wanted to compare my marks to others with a similar performance lust, then I probably would, but I'm not.Nerevar wrote:Do you guys buy 3DMark?

8O Damn... And you are complaining. So what are the frame rates like with that sort of score solo, is it smooth or is it still laggy at times. I am assuming the CPU tests still run like **** given that there is not THAT much difference between my 2800+ and your AMD 64 3700+ . But i am assuming you dont exactly hit double digits in the CPU test right...?solo wrote: My Radeon X800XT does this at stock speeds with a Athlon64 3700+ .... (it's very hectic on hardware).

Did the free version benchmark this morning, and got 3891 marks. Man my system was choking the thing down I tell you. Problem is the free version doens't give you any graphical options to change, so you cant enable antialising and change screen res etc.
So i bought the full version and I'm doing the tests now. Very hectic on the system, but holy cr@p, just the demo alone is gorgeous. If games start to look like that in the near future its going to be a bumpy ride.
P4 2.8 HT
Neo2 875P mobo
1gig DDR 400
X800 Pro Msi
Audigy 2

Don't even ask about CPU tests. I dont know what they are saving these test for ... 10 GHz CPU's maybe-ASSASSIN- wrote:8O Damn... And you are complaining. BTW you have to use the Catalyst 8.07 Beta drivers for this test. This is before I used then ... over a 1000 point difference !
I have since cracked 6038

Definately a tough benchmark on systems. But then again, 3DMark03 was also hardcore when it came out. The games are slowly starting to catch up, but the system specs needed to play them are getting a bit out of hand. I tried the online results browser in 3DMark05 to see if anyone came remotely close to my score. (cant seem to break the 3900 mark)
I was horribly disappointed.
