Unsure about score

Post by BoerBull »

Hey Guys I'm farely new to the PcFormat family, anyway here's my dilemma. I read about all of your amazing benchmarks and I am beginning to think that my systems a dud.

I benchmarked my system on 3dMark2001se at 9568 marks and on 3dMark2003 at 2400 marks (both on defaults). I'm not sure if my system is underperforming. I run all of my games very well at 1024x768 32bit all the juicy graphics turned up turned up with no probs,I even played Doom3 at "ultra detail" 1024x768 at 4xFSAA at a decent framefrate(a bit slow in some areas but still impressive), but that score seems a bit low comparing to the old GeForce4's.

My specs are:
AMD Barton core 3000+ @ 2.2Ghz
Coolermaster CPU fan for 2800+ and up
GeForceFx 5700le 256mb
3 hard drives (pr 20gig, 2xslv 10gig and 6gig) please don't laugh!?!
1024 mb DDR400 @ 333
Albatron KM400T pro motherboard

Could it be that I can't enable the agp3.0 calibration-cycle setting in my bios, cuz when its enabled and I start a game my system either reboots or freezes up, but disabled it runs like a Suzuki Hyabusa.

I've loaded up Detenator 61.77 and even flashed my bios with the correct and updated bios with no change.

Please reply if you have any hints to kick up my scores.
I won't be near a pc for a while so excuse my late response:

I think thats a good score seeing as you have a fx5700 LE. And its quite amazing you can run doom3 on that settings and still be able to play the game. With my settup I can run doom 3 on medium setting 1024x768 res and all the other stuff turned up except anti-aliasing and anistrophic filtering. You should be happy with your score. I get around 7500 in 3dmark2001 with my settup(no overclocking on anything and default settings).

O, by the way, welcome and hope you enjoy your stay.
when in doubt, paddle out... ;)
