I mainly utilise Photoshop 7. I love Photoshop to death and can't imagine how the world was spinning before it...8O

I use Freehand when I have to, but hate it. I don't enjoy vector work much.

As far as I understand, it seems South African industry standard is Photoshop, Freehand, and Corel Draw (why Corel??), and for print media such as newspapers and magazines they still use Quark.

Why are so many people still using Photoshop 7? The upgrade to CS isn't all that expensive... in fact, Photoshop CS is half the price that Photoshop 7 was.

The Shadows/Highlights adjustment is awesome, and so is the Match option for matching different images colouring. Plus full 16-bits per channel support! Woooo!

If you buy a Wacom, you usually get Painter with it. It's a "lite" version of Painter but it's perfectly adequate.

Well, if you DON'T make money from Photoshop, the upgrade is expensive enough. BTW Leigh, I saw you were going to work in the USA, I wish you good luck with that, and hope you make it big.

There is a supplier for Wacom in Parow or Paarden Eiland. Can't remember their name though.

I agree. Just the Shadows/Highlights feature makes buying this worth every cent.
