Moniter?

Post by SnowMonkey »

I have a problem here! I`m going to buy a moniter but do not know what to choose?
Here are my options:
1] 17" ViewSonic 25 Dot Pitch = R1850 (Silver & Black)
2] 17" Aopen 27 Dot Pitch = R 1450 (Silver & Black)
3] 17" Aopen 27 Dot Pitch = R 1100 (Biege)
4] 17" Rectron 27 Dot Pitch = R 1100 (Biege)

All of the above have a three year warranty, All have OSD except(Rectron)
Whitch one would you buy?
I would go for the 25 dot pitch, but that be alot more money than the rest, depends really on ur bank balance. I got the 17" rectron and havent had any complaints with it

What does dot pitch mean?
I know the smaller the number the better the picture! what does it actually do!
I´m oppting for the viewsonic but rectron say that they ain`t gonna be stocking them for long cause of lack of sales????
I found a samsung 17" 23 dot pitch for R1500.

COnfusion I want the best but don`t know witch is the best?

Dot Pitch: The distance between a dot and the closest dot of the same colour (red, green or blue) on a color CRT.

The smaller the number, the crisper your display. It´s measured in mm, so 23 means .23mm between dots.

So therefor the smaller your dot pitch the more dots you can get per inch!
So then you moniter should be able to display a greater resolution am I right or wrong?

Here is another thing to consider is`nt it true that if you have a greater dotpitch you moniter will burn out faster? Think of it your colours will be sharper and clearer there fore more burn for your screen and there for less life for your moniter?

Colours sharper and clearer, sure, but not neccesarily brighter Each dot will be hit by less energy than a monitor with a larger dotpitch to get the same overall brightness. But yeah, presumable a higher resolution.
