What I know about this "stuff" is dangerous. But according to my limited skills, you need a firewall, the company I work at has a PIX Cisco Firewall, running MailMarshall & Desktop to scan all incoming files. you will also need to update you firewall daily, yes.....daily. As I said I´m no Guru in this department, but that´s what i know.

The best way to stop trojans is to educate your users. Trojans can _only_ be introduced by stupid users. Make sure everyone runs a personal virus scanner on their own machine and checks _everything_ before they run or open it. Also, try stay away from Outlook (if you are running Windows, which I presume you are) since it has many many bugs that auto-run files without asking the user.

Education is your best weapon. It´s also the hardest to implement tho.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

Whoa there Mr Synk! You´re outta sync!

You´re being rather harsh and presumptuous aren´t you? Trojans are made by extremely devious-minded individuals and have been found in even the most legitimate looking e-mails which have been scanned by the best and daily updated antivirus and anti-Trojan software available. Outlook and IncrediMail are both extremely vulnerable. It´s a pity the people who make the software can´t come up with a permanent solution to this problem.

Although we update on a daily basis, it seems inevitable that something will slip through.

BTW There´s someone based in Hiroshima at the moment who is creating Trojans specifically with Outlook and IncrediMail in mind. Let´s hope he/she will get nailed soon!!

The only solution is: Keep updating regularly OR ...... Don´t use the Internet ?
Be careful out there, boys ´n girls!

Hey Snowy

"Who do I stop Trojans?"

Well, thats a very interesting question Snowy. I have the feeling that I would be better equiped to help you overcome your little problem if you told me who Trojan was, and what you wanted to stop him from doing.

Yours Sincerely
