Forum is a bit shaky lately
When I navigate to http://forums.pcformat.co.za/ I often get the message "This forum has no active forums/boards", something or other.
When trying to view the Active Topics list, I'm often presented with "Sorry, the board is unavailable", and from this morning, also SQL errors.
Few days ago, I couldn't post any messages to topics, it would acknowledge that the message was posted successfully, but it never appeared in the threads. I also couldn't create a new thread about this before, but I did try several times.
It's an on-off thing, sometimes it works fine, but the errors seem a bit more prevalent lately.
EDIT: Also add the following
1) Randomly getting logged out, twice in the past hour
2) When trying to edit this post I got the message "Sorry, you cannot read posts in this forum"
3) SQL error: "Table 'phpbb_config' doesn't exist [1146]"
4) SQL error: "Access denied for user '***'@'localhost' (using password: YES) [1045]"
5) "Sorry but you are not permitted to use the search system."

My personal opinion is that the DB is acting up a bit. It's happening more and more often.Stuart wrote:No such problems my side, but this is iRon's department.

Re: Forum is a bit shaky lately
Firstly, please post forum issues in the proper place.
Secondly, I've picked up a few database issues myself lately -- I've put in a few fixes; please let me know if the problem persists.

I also have had the log out issue. Little irritating some times.

Come to think of it - he did say that he didn't touch anything. And we all know what that means.....

Re: Forum is a bit shaky lately
I have had every single one of the problems you listed there Blade, some have cleared up but the random log-outs and error messages persist

Re: Forum is a bit shaky lately
It means I did not touch anything and how would a normal user be able to break the forum anyway?Tribble wrote:Come to think of it - he did say that he didn't touch anything. And we all know what that means.....
The log-outs though are not like the issue that i had before, then I would be logged out but my name would still show up in the users online section at the bottom of the page. Now when i get logged out i don't see my name there at all

Re: Forum is a bit shaky lately
But that name at the bottom just shows the users currently active and those active in the last hour. If you weren't on for long then your name wouldn't show.
