Ati 9600xt 3dmark 2003 benchies?
Ok i don't have an XT but i do have a 9600 Pro
I get 4258 3d 03 marks
My specs:
AMD 2500+ @ 2412 Mhz
256MB transcend RAM
9600 Pro @ 563/359
80 gb 7200rpm hdd
Hey REN, i'm sure you can own me quite badly seeing that your system specs far supercede mines! Hell overclock that card and that CPU and you shouldn't be bad for 4300+ points! Try it!

Is it safer to up your memory clock, and what do you think is better for performance, upping the core or the memory clock?Ok i don't have an XT but i do have a 9600 Pro

Man, i can't exactly tell ya what overclock is the best for your card, or even what is the max it can be pushed to! You have to find that out by yourself by trial and error! Fortunatly you can read up on other card overclocks in reviews and get an estimate of what the card is capable of! Or alternatively you can download a proggie called ATItool! It automatically detects the optimal clock speed your card can operate at! Once at the max ATItool can give you, try to push it up at a few MHZ at a time and see whether it benches! That should the max capable OC of ur card on AIR!Anonymous wrote:Hey Fishzn I left my cpu at stock and overclocked my card to 567/337,5 and got 4192 3d 03 marks, how much do you reckon I can still push the card before messing it up?
Thanx
As for clock speeds, it isn't a matter of which is safer, rather of how well you are able to overclock, any overclock can be dangerous, esp if you don't have a clue of what to do, so i'd reckon read as much material on overclocking CPU and GFX as you can, and you will slowly learn! Guys like Mrbean, naughty, solo, enigma over at PM, took quite a while before getting to know the ins and outs of beching, i hope to be there one day, but it takes alot of dedication and the willingness to learn! Don't expect a score in the top ten of the ORB after just a couple of benches, it takes time, as they say patience is a virtue!
Peace
P.S if you need anymore help, just ask!

No Prob dude, glad to see that you're getting somewhere with the overclocking!
Anyway, thats some good overclock speeds on the card there! Have you tried to OC the CPU as well? Maybe you can get another 100 marks or so, with a good CPU OC, you may wonder why only a 100 marks, but thats how 3dmark 03 is, a GPU dependent benchmark!
Also try benching your PC with 3dmark 01, there you will notice both CPU and GPU overclocks, you might be in the running for a 16k - 17k benchmark run in 3dm01!
Good luck!
