My age old ram querry. As it currently stands my SSD that once booted into windows in 6 seconds on my old system (then 5 seconds after changing from 1333 to 1600) now takes 15 seconds to boot into windows on my current system (specs in sig).
Yes I am running AHCI so the IDE issue is not there.
However I wonder if there isnt an issue with my ram. I can set my ram to either:
1600mhz 9-9-9-24 with tRFC 88 and CR 1T or
1866mhz 9-9-9-24 with tRFC 110 and CR 2T.
I won't pretend like I know what the digits in the ram represent, only that the lower the value the faster the ram is. But which is the better setting?
1600mhz vs 1866mhz?

Re: 1600mhz vs 1866mhz?
So it takes 15 seconds to boot into windows, what is that a problem. Yea 6 seconds was better but still 15 seconds is pretty quick......my PC seems to take years to boot into windows(probably time for a fresh install)
But play around with the timings and speed and see what results in the best load times

Nothing I can really do about the boot times. Other people confirmed that the more SATA controllers and extra stuff you have the longer the system takes to boot.
Back to the ram timing though which will result in a faster system? The 1600mhz setting or the 1866mhz setting? Because eventually the higher latencies starts to will result in no speed gain.

The best way to figure it out would be to set it at 1600, run some benches, get a feel for the system. Then set it at 1866 and do the same, see if you feel/notice any difference.
