Afrihost acquires Axxess

News emerged in late July that Internet Service Provider Afrihost had offered to purchase the entire share capital of Axxess DSL (Pty) Ltd (Axxess).

Afrihost director Greg Payne today confirmed that they have now concluded the deal with Axxess. “Due diligence has been done, contracts signed and payments have gone through,” said Payne.

I read this as saying that Axxess would remain a seperate company.

What really changes other than the board of directors and shareholders and what are the implications of this purchase?

Where Axxess going cheap. After the way Afrihost has been dishing out bandwidth, I didn't think they were making much of a profit, but maybe hosting helps to balance the books.
